Here at Denbigh Primary, we encourage our children to actively travel to and from school as often as possible. Last year, as a school we achieved a Bronze award in active travel and this year we are heading for Silver. We are currently taking part in Sustrans #BigWheelandWalk event. Keep an eye out for any future events we run!
Denbigh Primary has signed up to be part of ‘The Big Trunk Trail,’ which is a project aimed to raise money for Keech Hospice Care.
Keech Hospice Care are celebrating their 30th Year Anniversary of Care and would like this project to spread awareness, raise money and highlight all the wonderful hard work and support the charity provides to families. There will be a parade of decorated elephants designed by different schools and organisations passing through the Town Centre in July 2021.
Denbigh Primary is proud to be able to run fundraising activities between now and the end of 2021 with the target of raising £1000 for Keech Hospice Care.
For our first fundraising activity, we asked the children to bring in loose change (copper and silver) in an aim to ‘fill the elephant’ (an A1 elephant design placed in each classroom). Our competition was based on which class could collect the most coins and which class could raise the most amount of money. We decided to have two winners in KS2 and two winners in KS1. We are currently in the process of counting the total amount of money raised from the whole school and will then transfer the proceeds directly to Keech Hospice Care.
A huge thank you for all the children, parents and staff members who donated money.
We look forward to our next fundraising event in July 2021!
